what’s the story..?

You are the only story on your wedding day.  So, for me to make the most of every moment on your big day it’s important we get to know each other before hand, so I can then make the best photos from every opportunity on your wedding day.

I’m fortunate to visit lots of weddings every year and they are all totally unique.   Weddings have become a very personal reflection of the couple getting married.

So if you do want to have your story told in a natural, relaxed & most importantly enjoyable way with no cliche’d poses then I’d love to help.

That means if you don’t want photos of your foreheads touching (Why would you?) just let me know.  I’m also good with that!

Most couples tend to go for a mix of documentary photography (i.e me not getting involved) and a bit of posing/portraiture (me directing things).  And yes we absolutely can do a set of formal photos with the family too!!.   I’m not precious..   It’s your day so you get to approve everything in advance (i.e. I make a photography plan, discuss it with you & tweak it until you are happy)

This way you can both relax about the photography and enjoy the day knowing everything is in hand.   You can be confident I will be capturing both formal & fresh, new & creative photos of you both.   Yay!

And finally… don’t worry if you don’t have a huge masterplan, because I’ve still got your back.  I don’t have any expectations of you.   I’ll happily lead you through the process.

You’ll get my personal number for any questions you may have, any time leading up to the big day.

I’m on your side all the way.   From the first call to to delivering your album and wall art,  you will be my priority.

my story

I thought It would also be helpful to tell you a bit about my story also

Michael Willatt Wedding photographer

Stories are such an important part of how we relate to our world through our memory and imagination.  I can remember my mum reading ‘Ferdinand The Bull’ to me at night as a child.   Subsequently I can recall the freedom that reading novels brought to me.  It  gave me the chance to explore infinite new universes through fiction.

Perhaps unsurprisingly I discovered that both writing & telling stories can be just as rewarding.  At secondary school I first developed my interest in photography; telling the story of my family holiday or school performances (my poor friends) using still images, and then creating a record on the school wall or in an album held such magical storytelling possibilities for me..!

IF HISTORY WERE TAUGHT WITH

STORIES

IT WOULD NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

So here I am a few (!) years later. I’m fortunate enough to be using my camera to tell peoples’ unique wedding stories, and I love it!

I consider myself a very fortunate storyteller!
